Project  /  New Build Industrial, Minworth

Client  /  Bericote

Value & Duration  /  £17m - 32 weeks

This project involved construction of two new industrial units totalling 212,000ft2 on a site that had been cleared following its previous industrial use. The larger of the two units is an automated internet shopping facility for one of the world's major retailers. We have completed both the base build works and comprehensive fitting out works for the retailer. Due to the long co-ordination and design phase we re-sequenced the programme to complete the external works as far as possible before the steel frame for the building arrived on site, with block paving, tarmac, concrete yards and even landscaping works completed in advance of the steelwork. The second unit was a simple speculative unit for the local Midlands market.

Project  /  Heathrow Logistics Park

Client  /  Graftongate / Black Rock

Value & Duration  /  £21m - 53 weeks

This project involved construction of four new build warehouse units totalling 304,000ft2. The buildings are developed on a speculative basis, the site itself is partially on the footprint of an old sand/gravel pit and landfill site. Part of our value engineering solution was to employ ground improvement techniques instead of piling to three of the four units. Removal of piling enabled an improved programme and reduced the amount of work that would have been required in clearing obstructions from pile positions. As well as constructing the units our works also included s278 works with highway widening, new estate roads, creation of new parklands amounting to approximately 50 acres of new landscaped areas.
