A new build industrial estate comprising three units and 144,000ft2 of floor area. The works comprised construction of all three units with warehouse and office space, associated external works were also provided including heavy duty access roads, concrete service yards, car parking areas and landscaping. The existing levels on site required extensive earthworks together with the addition of retaining walls to support the adjacent motorway embankment. S278 highways works were also carried out to connect the buildings to the public highway.
In addition, contamination clearance and remediation works were required to clear the site of previous industrial activity, we employed our own specialist to prepare, monitor and verify the remediation method statement. Our value engineering approach permitted the construction of one of the units with vibro stone columns in lieu of ground improvement thus generate both cost and programme savings.
