Design and construction of a new warehouse building with associated offices, external yards, car parking and landscaping works. The foundations and floor slab are supported via precast concrete driven piles with external areas having been subjected to surcharging. The works were completed on site 30 weeks from receiving instructions to commence. To enable the largest possible building on the plot, a gabion retaining wall has been constructed to two sides of the attenuation lagoon to accommodate the building in close proximity.
The building has been designed in a way to enable it to be split into two separate adjoining units depending on the occupier market. In addition, the works required installation of a foul water treatment plant, rainwater harvesting systems and solar thermal hot water systems. These measures contributing to the BREEAM Excellent rating that was required as part of the Local Development Order planning consent.
